Murderous Beauties - The Mitsuko Souma Fan Club!

I'm so glad someone made this fan club!
Mitsuko is my favourite character by far.

She's definitely the most interesting and intricate character I've ever had the privalledge of reading! There's loads of .gifs on Tumblr of her, so I think I might put them up here and stuff?

Honestly though, without Mitsuko and Kiriyama, there would no WAY be as many deaths at all. Without them, I think they actually had a shot of overthrowing the government!

Shinji could have got his plan to work, Shogo could have taken off the collars, they had so much of a chance!

Definitely, she's so complex and such a good deconstruction of the femme fatale and ahhh. I just love her.

Put exactly right! I love how even though she has this terrible reputation, she manages to convince her victims that she doesn't mean any harm. She's also one of the most intelligent individuals on the island by far, especially amongst the women!

I know, isn't it? But it makes for some badass deaths and amazing characterisation!

So true. I find the way she plays the game really interesting. She's not as hack-and-slash as everyone else. Her ability to manipulate people is pretty admirable.
That is true. The book would have been pretty dull if any more than two had survived, I think.

I think that's why I like her so much. I mean, obviously there's the whole "She's very attractive, have a panty shot" side of things which I like but it's not why I like her.

I mean, Shogo would have played the game excellently had he meant his big ending speech, but the only other person who played the game psycologically was Mitsuko. Kazuo was nothing with out his brute force and "Oh, hey, I can't die" and neither would any of the other characters. She PLAYED the game, and she did it brilliantly. Had someone of more mental instability been her opponent (such as Niida) she definitely would have won.

I'd quite like to get a rating system for each student going. Like, "Capacity for Murder" "ruthlessness" "physical ability", I think it would be interesting to see how everyone rates each student.

Mm. I agree. I think that's why I prefer Mitsuko to Kazuo. He was certainly clever, but he never felt as... devious, I guess.
That could be really interesting... I wonder what categories Mitsuko would have come out top in?
Hm... I guess in a way I liked that her strategy could have really worked. Kazuo would have not survived the bullets he took, and few 9th graders would be as savvy and skilled as Shinji... It just felt very... real, I guess.

(And of course she is totally hot. Although Takako Chigusa is more of my type.)

Same here, in the Manga he was extremely clever, but it never really extended to what he learnt in books. There was nothing cunning, there was no grey area, and with Mitsuko, she's completely unpredictable!

I have no idea, but I've always wanted to create a sort of "Battle Royale Top Trumps" kinda thing, I've always thought that it would be interesting to see who the strongest/weakest character is.

Oh, yeah, definitely. Mitsuko's character is totally more realistic than the others. I still think it's unlikely, but then again, you don't know what happens when you're put in the game. It's dystopian, and it's a completely different set of circumstances, so I don't think it's fair to say certain stories or strategies are completely unrealistic, but I agree with you 100%, the scariest thing about Mitsuko is that she could happen!

EDIT: Also, I think the only two people who could have/would have put up a fight to her was Takako and Show. Takako obviously did and died (also, she's definitely my type over the Mitsuko type), but Show versus Mitsuko would have been very interesting. He wouldn't fall for her because he's gay, not to mention he's extremely proud of his "Queen" status, Mitsuko would have been opposition. He's obviously handy with weapons as he was in the Kiriyama family, but I honestly don't know who would have one in a fight between the both of them

I secretly think that movie!Mitsuko could have won the whole thing had Kazuo not been wearing a bullet proof vest. She made a pretty decent slash in his chest with that sickle.
Ahh, there is so much to love about Mitsuko, but honestly, I just felt so much more sorry for her than anyone else... Oh man, I just have honest to god issues with how much I like her character.

Ahhh, Takako. My love for her is ever intensified by the actress that plays her. Hm... I think in other circumstances she might have been able to take Mitsuko. n the manga and book she was really injured when Mitsuko got to her, and in the movie Mitsuko had the element of suprise...
Definitely! I feel like he would have been harder to manipulate than others. He was one of the few that really understood human nature and the violence his classmates were capable of. I'm not sure if she could have fooled him... Then again, Kazuo showed us that he wasn't exactly impossible to out-smart. I think she might have been able to fool him into thinking he had the upper hand and used that to beat him.
