Class Camping Trip

Izumi Kanai

Izumi was almost startled when someone unexpectedly grabbed the suitcase out of her hand. It didn't take her too long to realize it was Shogo, coming to her rescue after all. Her heart sunk and she barely managed to stutter out a weak "Thank you", which she was pretty sure he didn't hear anyway. Even if he did, he ignored it and was already moving towards her tent. She put on some speed to catch up to him, biting her lip softly as she threw nervous glances at him. He kept his head turned straight ahead and appeared not to take any notice of her. She knew this might be her only opportunity to talk to him at all during the trip, as she didn't wish to seek him out and ruin his mood later on.

Since she was staying in tent number one, they were already getting close to it. Well, the tent in progress that is. As she had hoped, her two tent-mates had begun trying to put everything together. However, it looked like they were both doing their best to avoid the other as much as possible. She noticed Toshinori sent Ryuhei some nasty looks as the lanky boy's back was turned. I hope they haven't already gotten into an argument, Izumi thought and sighed. Since neither of them looked particularly happy, she started slowing down her pace significantly. She had a pretty strong suspicion they would be even less pleased if she came walking up with Shogo. When slowing down, she hoped he would do the same. To make sure she got his attention, she finally decided to speak.
"Hey, Shogo, listen..." she quietly begun, now stopping in her tracks completely. "This might be a completely... ridiculous thing to ask. But are you ok? You helping me and all... We're ok, right?" Izumi was too uncomfortable to meet his eyes and instead looked over at her two friends and their apparent struggle. She knew this wasn't the ideal way to start the trip, but was eager to clear the air completely before it was too late.

Keita Iijima

Keita raised his hand slightly to wave goodbye to Yoshimi after he helped her get her things to her and Yoji's tent. He didn't know himself why he had offered to help her. She had her own boyfriend who could do these things for her, didn't she? But Keita wasn't used to girls requesting things from him and had a hard time saying no. Especially to Yoshimi, for some reason. She's just too cute, he thought to himself and felt his cheeks flush.

He had already lost sight of Shinji and Yutaka, but figured they would be ok without him for a few minutes. He had to get his own tent up, anyway! Man, I've never done this before, how on earth do I even begin? He looked around, desperate to find the only person he was sharing a tent with, Haruka. Maybe she was better with these kind of stuff. Heh, kinda embarassing... Needing help from a girl. So not cool, Keita.
He shook his head at his own helplessness and begun picking up the pieces.

Sugi walked towards her. From where she was standing, Sugi was about to say something. then she noticed that his nose was bleeding, so she walked towards him.

"Sugi, are you alright? you're bleeding! Come on, we should go to our tent site! I'll fix that bleed for you, Sugi! Don't worry!"

"Are you sure, Sugi?" She clasped both hands. "Okay, as long you are fine. We should go to the tent sites and fixed our tents. Ha,ha,ha,ha...I don't even know how to do that...we better start early if we want to finish early. And here..."

Kayoko handed her the ikebana that was meant to decorate their place. "This is for us."

YOSHIMI

The girl dried the few tears who that were in her cheek and decided to enter in the tent, grabbed Yoji's hand and lying down on the floor to see that it was comfortable or not. She laughed and stand up again.

"I'm going to die! Is so hard, Yoji!"

Oh, god!

Suddenly, Yoshimi remembered something and ran from the tent, not whitout say "Wait, please!" to Yoji.
Although it seems silly, the girl picked up some flowers and put them inside the tent.

"See? More cozy!"

YOSHITOKI

Finally, Nobu and his girlfriend finished with the tent, Hirono had not lifted a finger, and that bothered him, but Nobu wanted to see friendly with her. He looked at Noriko.

"You can go to help the girls. See you later, okay?" he said with a friendly and calm voice.

HIRONO

"Well it's about damn time" Hirono complained as she zipped open the tent and carelessly threw her luggage in. She looked around the campsite to see what trouble she could stir up. After a few minutes of surveying the area she decided to wait until later to cause someone hell.

YUKIE

"Yeah...see ya around.." Yukie said softly although Shuya had already left the tent. She could feel her eyes fill with tears. Why did she throw him away? Why did she ruin her one chance at love? Soon Yukie could feel the tears that were once in her eyes run down her cheek. "I'm such an idiot.."

((First post in the RP, sorry for not doing this sooner! Been ridiculously busy at work, and just haven't had the time to sit and write something. I hope it's not that bad for you all to read!))

Haruka


Haruka sat on the fallen log next to the lake and sighed, she really wanted to enjoy herself on the trip, she really did. But outside worries were nagging at her, constantly bothering her, never leaving.
Everyone in class just had this image of her; Haruka volleyball playing Tanizawa, Yukie’s best friend, always smiling, always telling jokes, always going out of her way to help others. That was all they had, an image. When in reality, they couldn’t be further from the truth.
Wrapping her arms around herself in an attempt to keep warm, Haruka shivered. Allowing her thoughts to fleet back to the last time her and her father spoke before the trip, she sighed.

“Haruka, for the last time, I’m putting my foot down and saying no. I forbid you from going to summer camp, your mother and I have decided that you’ll be participating in extra-curricular studying. Being a Volleyball player, you’ll achieve nothing. Being a Tanizawa, we have face; we have reputation for being good doctors, and you will, carry that reputation. I’m sorry, but I just cannot allow it”

See, Haruka, her parents forbid her dream of pursuing a career in Volleyball, her Grandma, the one person who supported her, was gravely ill and in hospital. A constant fear of underperforming in her exams led to many sleepless nights, and paranoia of not doing well enough for her parents.
Haruka noticed something moving in the corner of her eye, scuttling past, was a mouse! Thinking to herself, she thought “See, I bet that little guy has no worries in the world, no concept of anything, I almost envy him in a way.” And with that, she stood up and headed back towards the central camp. She wanted to forget, no, she needed to forget, and just have a good time, and that’s exactly what she was going to allow herself to do on the trip…

Noriko jumped slightly when Hirono almost immediately tossed her bag into the rent and walked off. She let out a sigh and looked over at Yoshitoki. He suggested that she should go over to the girls. She felt a pang of guilt, considering she had abandoned Satomi and Yuka to help out Yoshitoki.

"Oh, okay! I'll see you later!" she said, and strolled off towards her own tent. It was almost fully prepared, but she decided to help with the last few parts. She hummed happily as she adjusted the last few parts.

As soon as it was put up, Noriko entered the tent and carefully laid her duffle bag in one corner of the tent. She then left, and took a look around the campsite, wondering what else she could do now that she had everything she needed to do completed.


Yutaka almost let out a cry of joy when he was finally finished putting up the tent on his own. Proud of himself, the boy took a step back to admire his work. His happiness almost vanished completely. The tent looked like it could fall apart at any moment, and there were a few pieces out of place. He groaned. At least my tentmates aren't the type to get picky over that kind of stuff... he thought.

At the thought of his tentmates, Yutaka looked around the campsite, trying to see where Yoshio and Mizuho were. He couldn't see Yoshio anywhere, but not too far away, he spotted Mizuho holding up a bug, claiming it resembled Hiroshi. After a few seconds of hesitation, he tossed his bag in the tent and approached Mizuho.

"Uh, hey, Inada... The tent's up if you want to put your stuff inside..." he mumbled. Yutaka looked at the girl anxiously, nervous about what creature he would possibly find in his tent over the next five days.

As he kept walking and dragging the goddamn suitcase, Shogo, with his other hand carrying his significantly smaller bag, snatched the cigarette between his fingers, blowing out the smoke. He kept walking, without checking if Izumi was following him — he didn't have to. Izumi's quiet voice revealed her location to be beside him.

”We're ok, right?”

Shogo dropped the unfinished cigarette on the ground, crushing it by stepping on it. At first Shogo's expression was uptight and seemed like he wasn't going to say a single word back. Then he suddenly stopped walking and threw a glare at the pink suitcase. ”I promised to help you, remember? Besides, didn't look like you were doing a good job carrying this shit... What the hell did you actually pack in there anyway?”

He really didn't give a flying shit about what the suitcase contained. His little small talk were only to distract the girl a little so she would forget about the current subject. He wasn't in the mood talking about it. He wasn't in a mood talking about anything.

When he thought the girl dropped the topic, he turned his body towards the tent, where Izumi's tentmates, Sasagawa Ryuhei and Oda Toshinori, were struggling at putting the tent together. Shogo rolled his eyes, as he started walking again, dragging the damn suitcase.








”Can we please do this...? I really need this...”

Sakura blinked and it caused a trail of tears slide across her cheeks. Lately, after all the nasty stuff going on between Kazuhiko and Shimizu, naturally Sakura just couldn't hang out with Kaz like she normally would. She felt dirty being with him. She couldn't handle the mental image she had and that's all she could think of when she was near to him or saw his face.
Now Sakura couldn't stop looking in his eyes, seeing the pain in there. Just only looking in his eyes made her feel extremely uncomfortable and miserable, not to mention the tears welling in his eyes.

”I'm... I'm sorry, of course... of course we can... do... try...”

We can try. Was the thought in her head when Kazuhiko and Sakura, connected by their hands, walked out of the buss and went to pick up their bags. She wanted to try, for Kazuhiko's sake.

"Uhm hi, Sakura!"

Sakura turned around to see who was calling for her. She saw Megumi Eto waving at her, walking towards her, clearly smiling. ”Eto-chan, hello! Excited for the trip?”

Megumi pulled her giant suitcase along the ground. Looking up and smiling at Sakura.

"Eto-chan, hello! Excited for the trip?” Sakura asked, as Megumi walked to her.

"Uh, yeah! It'll be fun," Megumi replied shyly.

Megumi then bent down and tied her laces, which she noticed were undone. She then pulled herself up and smiled at Kazuhiko.

"Uh, hi," Megumi greeted him.

She then smiled and turned her attention around, searching again for Noriko. Noriko was already done with her tent and putting her things away. Megumi frowned as she noticed most people were so ahead with their tents.

"Should we start on our tent? I mean, if you're not busy, i don't want to rush you two," Megumi asked the pair.

YOSHITOKI

When he was alone, Nobu decided to start putting his things in the tent, ordering it. He want to make a good impression to Kazushi and Hirono, although he knew that Hirono eill never treat him well.
Then, he went out of the tent, willing to search to Kazushi.

He saw Shuya, and looked for a while. He didn't want to talk to him, but he felt he had to do it. Stop being stupid, Yoshitoki... he said to hisself, and continued walking.

Shogo casually ignored her question and instead begun asking about her suitcase and its contents. The superficial smalltalk made her feel even worse about the situation and she frowned slightly, trying to hide her frustration.
"It's just... clothes and stuff. Some food. Different pairs of shoes." She shrugged, knowing full well he didn't really care about this. She didn't want to push him into talking if he didn't want to, so they walked in uncomfortable silence the rest of the way.

She saw her two friends had gotten quite far (Surprisingly so, at least) in putting up the tent, and smiled. Maybe this meant they had managed to co-operate for once. Which meant things were looking good for the mood in the tent. She figured she could pull her suitcase by herself the last meters. Before walking over to them, she turned to Shogo one last time.
"I really appreciate you helping me here. Just... thank you." She smiled geniunly and grabbed the handle out of his hand. Then she hesitated for a few seconds, without even knowing why. But it didn't last for long and she sent him one last quick smile, before turning away and heading towards her tentmates.
"Ryuhei, Toshinori! Great to finally be here," she greeted happily. "I see you're doing a good job getting this all together!"

(( Well, here's my first post, 10 pages in. Sorry for the extreme delay. Here it goes... ))

Hiroshi awoke with a stir. He looked around the empty bus he was sitting in and after taking a moment to wake up fully, got up and headed out. He had been sitting across from Ryuhei and Mitsuru, who both seemed to be in their own little worlds at the time. After a couple attempts at conversation with them, Hiroshi settled on reading one of the many adult magazines he brought with him. He hadn't had too much sleep that night (he usually woke up around noon on his current sleep schedule), and he drifted off soon after. He couldn't believe he fell asleep on the drive, but even more he couldn't believe that no one bothered to wake him up.

As he stepped off the bus, he surveyed the campsite around him and breathed in the fresh wilderness air. The camp was bustling with activity, his classmates setting up (or trying to set up) their tents and getting luggage off the bus. Hiroshi remembered his own tentmates and settled on locating them. He walked around the front of the bus and saw his friends finishing setting up the tent at spot #6. He took a couple steps back behind the bus and sighed. He figured they wouldn't be mad that he was too late to help with the tent, but he felt stupid nonetheless. Figuring he should try to cover his tracks and try to make it look like he was helping all along, he went to the bus with everyone's luggage and got the bags out for himself and his tentmates and waited for them to find him.

(( Eh . . . Sorry for not replying much - And being inactive in general with Motobuchi here. I was on vacation or something like that /cough/ I hope this is still going on? XD ))


[justify]At this point in time the class president had gathered his luggage - just a simple backpack filled with the certain necessities needed for camping, and a gym back with clothes for him to wear during the duration on the trip. The bespectacled boy had considered bringing all of it in a large suitcase, but that didn't seem fitful for a camping trip. Now he stood near the bus pondering on where to go from there. He was sure that it would be expected of him to go and set up the tent; or, at least help. Though, it didn't seem that fun, nor did it feel to be like something he would enjoy. Even so though, it was what was expected of him.

So Kyoichi slowly started to walk in the direction of tent number four. He would be sharing his tent with Souma and Kawada - He didn't mind much of his tent-mates, though Kawada had been the one to eliminate him during the program, it was all irrelevant at this point. He had also decided that he would try not to annoy anyone during the trip with socially inappropriate questions, as this was supposed to be a fun trip and he didn't want to ruin it for his classmates because of his inquiries.

Once at the location of the tent, the boy knelt down, not very surprised by the fact that he was the first one there; everybody else was probably socializing. He, on the other hand, didn't have any friends to bother with something like that. So it was always business with him, and no distractions. Kyoichi knew this should have made him sad, being without any socialization, but it didn't. It had always been that way, and he didn't mind. The boy didn't feel lonely, nor depressed, but instead it made him feel almost superior. Almost.

Without further hesitation he unrolled the tent and began to stick in the poles to hold it up; he had never been camping before, though, he had studied the act of tent pitching down to a T before attending the class trip. He now considered himself a master. Though now his mind was beginning to get a bit slippery - Was he supposed to put the stakes in before the poles, or after? No matter. Things always had a way of working itself out, and he continued to set it up.

After exploring some areas of the island for a few minutes, Noriko decided to go over to the lunch tables. There seemed to be very few people there so far, so she decided to sit down at one of the many empty tables. There were ingredients lying around, and Noriko absentmindedly picked up one of the items.

She let out a soft sigh and looked around. She decided that it would be best to stay here until more of her friends came along. Noriko then looked down hungrily at the food. It had been more than a few hours since she ate, and something like this was exactly what she needed.


After a long (and rather painful) process of trying to get the tent set up with Ryuhei, Toshinori figured that it would be adequate for the next few days out here. Well, adequate may have been overstating it. They only just about managed to get it to stay up properly the fourth time after it collapsed.

While the other students made their way to the lunch tables, Toshinori turned and went towards his tent. Izumi had mentioned that she had packed proper food for them, so Toshinori saw no need to dine with the vulgar masses. Besides, he had yet to forget about the dare Mitsuko said she would carry out on the lunch tables.

He looked around for Izumi, to see if she would be joining him, or if he would be alone. Toshinori decided it didn't matter whether anyone joined him in the tent or not, but he certainly wasn't going to join those vulgar commoners for lunch.

Naturally, Kazuo set up his sleeping bag and belongings to one side of the tent so that he would only be sleeping next to one person - being his counterpart, of course - and not have to sleep wedged in the middle at all. Not that he would even be sleeping.

With no regard for if his counterpart remained determined to keep an eye on him, it wasn't long after unpacking that Kazuo ventured off from his tentmates to gather his bearings on the area. He didn't like not knowing where he was or being unfamiliar with the environment. After checking down every trail for what was around, he scoped out some of the woods until lunch time had rolled around. He wasn't very hungry, and he didn't want to get in line for food right away when most everyone else would probably want to be in line first, so instead of immediately going for food, come 1:30PM Kazuo began creeping along the edges of the picnic area.

He literally circled the clearing, at a leisurely pace, keeping to the edge of the woods just behind the line of trees so that someone might only notice him if they were to look carefully. He did this until about 2:00PM, when the line had largely dispersed. Rather warily, as if fearful of being shot at out in the open not unlike in the Program, Kazuo then crept out from the woods to stride for the food line.

He collected stir fry that was more meat than vegetables, an average amount of rice which he mixed into it, a small square of sponge cake, and a soda, then took a seat at the end of one of the tables where no one else was seated nearby. He hadn't taken very much food overall, not being especially hungry, but he took his time eating it. For his antisocial seating choice, boy number six didn't eat quite like a typical loner; his gaze did not linger on his food, lifting frequently to flicker around and check on where everybody was with the kind of attentiveness and caution of a sparrow at a birdfeeder. His anxiety had settled now that he was not trapped on a crowded bus... but he still felt rather skittish, as was obvious to anyone paying enough attention to him.

Izumi Kanai

Izumi were so surprised about her tentmates having finished putting up the tent together without anyone getting hurt, she hadn't noticed the hunger building up inside of her. But when lunch was announced, she was more than ready to devour whatever was on the menu. Apparently they had over one hour to eat, but Izumi was hungry enough to trail off right away. She even forget about her tentmates, thinking she could find someone to eat with when she got there. Not many had arrived already, but she saw Noriko sitting alone at a table. She was about to head over to her friend, but right then remembered she had forgotten her small bottle of hand sanitizer that she liked to use after she had eaten. Especially when she was eating outside, off of someone else's plates and silverware. She quickly turned around, strolling back to her tent where she had left it in her suitcase.

As she came closer to the tent, she saw a small silhouette already inside.
"Toshinori?" She made her way through the tiny opening of their tent, finding her little friend there. "So you're hiding here, are you! Is everything alright?" She crawled over to him and sat down next to him, deciding that even though had planned to be social with everyone else, it was even more important not to leave her friend all alone.

Shinji Mimura

Shinji had been meandering around the campsite since he had gotten all of his things unloaded and situated inside of his tent. He heard the call for Lunch but decided that it would be best to wait out the rush for a little while, just relaxing after exploring for so long. He glanced around and noticed that the line had thinned out and he went to stand in line to get his food. After getting his meal he looked around and noticed Movie Kiriyama sitting all alone, as far away as possible from everyone, and cautiously looking around while eating his food and an idea struck Shinji.

He made his way over to the boy who planned on killing him another four times with a confident stride, acting like he knew exactly what he was doing, which he did. He made sure Kiriyama didn't notice him coming up to him before he quickly sat down right beside him, their arms touching constantly they were so close. Shinji smirked at the other boy and leaned in to kiss him. God I hope this works. Fucking dare.

Dark eyes were driven to double-take upon movement catching their attention. Kazuo turned his head just slightly to keep an eye on Mimura - the boy at the very top of his list of targets - when he spotted the athletic youth strutting his direction. He felt adrenaline pour gradually through his system in the building anticipation that Mimura did not plan on just passing by... Kazuo was keenly aware Mimura had a dare to kiss him; he didn't want to be anywhere near the boy unless it was with the specific intent to kill him.

Sure enough, Mimura sat down just beside him. The second their arms were touching, Kazuo scrambled up from the table, abandoning what was left of his food to take a few hasty steps back just as Mimura's lips grasped for the empty space he had occupied moments ago.

At first the wild-haired youth looked somewhere between horrified and anxious... before a foreboding darkness billowed into his face, and his gaze turned venomous. Adrenaline had come to a rise - it was fight or flight now. On one hand he just wanted to put all the more distance between him and Mimura. On the other, he wanted to rip his throat out with his bare hands.

It didn't take long for his fists to decide for him; Kazuo strode briskly forward, closing the space he had made in seconds and whipping a punch for Mimura's face with his left hand while his right prepared to go for his gut if that failed. If either punch reached its target, the fight would rapidly snowball from there - once Kazuo got started, there would be almost no stopping him until the fight reached its end one way or another.

Shinji looked confused as his lips met with air and not his target. He saw Kiriyama standing up and looking as if he were about to kill him. Shinji's own adrenaline spiked as he felt the danger around him. He was getting up when he noticed a fist flying at his face and quickly dodged it but didn't notice the fist flying at his gut until it was too late.

The fist connected with his abdomen and all the air rushes out of Shinji's lungs. By some miracle me managed to stay on his feet and gripped onto the table for some support. He knew that once Kiriyama got started, he wouldn't be able to just end the fight there so he braced himself for more hits while he watched for an opening to either fight back or escape.

Fucking dare is going to get me killed.

The first punch swiped through air, but there was not enough force invested in it to throw Kazuo off balance. The instant his second hit made contact, another punch from the left fist came flying up for Mimura's jaw as quick as reflex. For his languid manner of walking around, Kazuo moved with startling speed in a fight - speed that could prove deadly if his opponent didn't react fast enough to keep up.

Regardless of if his third punch crashed into Mimura's jaw as planned, Kazuo's other hand was already raising out of its first punch to prepare to grab for his head should the third punch be successful. After dazing someone with a strong hit to the face, smashing their head down onto the nearest hard surface was an excellent way to really knock out their senses - the nearest hard surface here conveniently being the picnic table Mimura had just leaned on for support. This fight was going rapidly downhill for the Third Man; movie-verse Kiriyama was an unrelenting force of violence, one attack rolling smoothly into the next with well-rehearsed efficiency.

Shinji watched as the left fist came flying at his face, noticing Kiriyama's right hand opened and lifting up towards his head. Shinji didn't have time to react to the punch before it hit his face with surprisingly less force than he was expecting. It still hurt but not near as much as the hit to his abdomen.

Shinji moved his head right before Kiriyama could grab him and slam his face into the table and noticed that he had leaned in to try to grab his head. Damn I hope this works! Shinji threw his right fist at Kiriyama as hard as he possibly could, praying that it connected with it's designated target, Kiriyama's face.

Shinji smirked when he felt his fist connect with something hard but moved away as fast as he could to get away from the mad man while he was dazed. Shinji didn't stop moving until he decided he was a safe distance away from Kiriyama and turned around to watch the man to see if a game of chase was going to ensue.

TAKAKO CHIGUSA

Having successfully lost Mitsuko, Takako headed for the picnic area, eager to grab some lunch. She kept an eye out while she loaded her plate with stir-fry and sat at one of the tables. As she sat, Takako looked around for some one to talk to. Hiroki and Kayoko were nowhere to be found, and she couldn't see Izumi either. She shrugged. No big deal, I'm used to eating alone anyway. Better to have some space than to deal with some one annoying. Still, if she saw anyone worth checking in with, she was prepared to get up and join them.

She was also prepared, as it turned out, to get up and leave if she saw trouble brewing. A few bites into her meal, her ears perked up, registering the now familiar sounds of a fight. She turned to see Shinji Mimura the wild-haired Kiriyama taking each other on. No need to get involved with this mess. I've already wasted enough time in that particular area. Takako's hand unconsciously wrapped across her torso, muscle memory kicking in. The area where Kiriyama's booted foot had struck her was still the smallest bit tender. No, she didn't want to take him on again any time soon.

Waving away the memory of her and Kiriyama's fight, Takako rose from her table and strode from the campground. Not so fast as to call attention to herself, that she made sure of, but not slow enough to risk being caught in the whirlwind of the brawl. She headed towards the beach and sat on a rocky outcropping. Taking her running shoes off, she stuck her feet in the lake and looked out across it. She noticed a path winding around the water's edge and wondered how far around the lake was. Maybe she could jog along the path tomorrow morning. It would be much nicer than just circling the campsite. I wonder if anyone'd want to come . . .
